Wiki-Teacher (a forum for teachers to share their collective intelligence through lesson plans, unit plans, and demonstration videos)

Wiki-Teacher is a comprehensive and informative wiki designed for teachers by teachers to promote collaboration between teachers and offer a place to find and share lesson plans and videos produced for students. The format is easy to follow and searches can be easily focused on exactly what the teacher is looking for. I especially liked how easy it was to search for grade level standards based lessons.
After registering for free, I was able to browse the extensive content lists and view effective videos that offer incite to students and teachers alike. I'm always looking for ways to learn how other teachers manage behaviors and transitions in the classroom. I've been to seminars that "explain" how classroom structures are implemented but being a more visual learner, it helps for me to see the structure being performed. Now, with this site, I can watch a particular method over and over again until I feel comfortable implementing it in my own classroom.
Once more, it's free, easy to use, and most importantly, effective in our everyday teaching strategies.

  1. Hi Christopher,

This is a terrific wiki for teaching. I could use the third grade demonstration video on cause & Effect. Thank you.

  2. Christopher,

This is a really useful resource. There are some great assessments that are very specific to national standards that I downloaded for use. Thanks for the great find.

  3. Chris, this is an amazing resource from Clarke County. Although this wiki is used more as a publishing platform, rather than a collaboration tool, it is impressive. I find that some wikis, even when used as a blogging platform, provide more tools than you find in sites that bill themselves as "blogging" platforms. Well done!
